*NEW* RN Scholarship
PURPOSE
Professional registered nurses are more critical than ever during these unprecedented times. Local hospitals are currently seeing the largest nursing shortage in recent history due to the Covid pandemic. The Heinrich and Annie Lamm Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by medical and dental staff of Valley Baptist Medical Center, established in 1975, for aspiring students in the health sciences. This scholarship seeks to support students admitted or enrolled in a qualified registered nurse educational program, Fall 2022. Eligible educational programs include Licensed Vocational Nurse to Registered Nurse (LVN to RN), Associate Degree Nursing (ADN), and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Undergraduate nursing students, who reside in Cameron or Willacy County, are invited to apply for this scholarship. The scholarship will award up to $1500/semester and can be renewed every semester throughout completion of the program. Submission of official transcripts and proof of enrollment will be required for each semester the scholarship is renewed.
GUIDELINES
Scholarships are awarded by the Heinrich and Annie Lamm Memorial Scholarship Committee and administered by the Valley Baptist Legacy Foundation to assist individuals pursuing a registered nurse educational program. The scholarship may be renewed every semester if all requirements are met.
- Scholarships will be awarded to selected eligible applicants admitted or enrolled in a qualified registered nurse education program, LVN to RN, ADN, or BSN in the Rio Grande Valley or a qualified online program
- Financial need will be considered
- Applications are available from The Valley Baptist Legacy Foundation, www.vblf.org/scholarships and must be submitted by June 30, 2022
- The award selection will take place by mid-July and is renewable each semester

Completed applications must be returned to the Foundation Office by June 30 for the Fall Semester or November 30 for the Spring Semester.
